After watching this video in class today it really made me think about the depiction of identity and the idea that asks where is “home”? I really like how this video uses language to create the tension that the song is describing. This is most exemplified to me when the two brothers are arguing and one is speaking in English and the other in Gujarati.

My one question after watching the video stems from the fight the brothers have at the end of the video. The one who had gone to America discourages the other brother’s thoughts of leaving for the country, but it also seems like the video ends with the brother who had left regretting that he had done so. He doesn’t have the family or the same “home” that his brother does. This makes me wonder if this hip-hop group regrets the choices that they have made when faced with the question of identity?
